Addiction Dance Company is thrilled to bring its high-energy, professionally produced dance competition to Louisville, KY. We invite dancers, studios, and families to experience a weekend of remarkable performances, expert feedback, and community celebration. This regional event is open to all ages and skill levels and serves as a qualifier for our national competition.

Levels of Competition
To ensure a balanced and fair playing field, we offer competition levels based on dancer experience and number of routines:

Novice: 1–2 years of competition experience, 5 or fewer routines

Intermediate: 3–5 years of competition experience
-
Advanced: 6+ years of competition experience
-
Adaptive: For individuals with special needs
Mixed-level groups may only compete one level lower than the highest-level dancer in the routine. Dancer placement is expected to reflect actual experience, but level adjustments may be made day-of by our judges if scoring discrepancies warrant it.
Time Limits and Performance Guidelines
Each performance must stay within time limits to maintain flow and fairness throughout the event. Extended time may be requested in advance for a fee.

Standard Time Limits:

Solo: 2:45 minutes

Duet/Trio: 3:00 minutes

Small Group: 3:00 minutes

Large Group: 4:00 minutes

Line & Addiction Line: 5:00 minutes

Production: 6:00 minutes + 5:00 minutes for prop setup/removal
Special lighting or in-performance stage rehearsals are not permitted. Any necessary changes to scheduled order must be approved by event staff in advance.
Dance Categories
Our competition accepts a wide range of dance styles. All entries must be appropriately categorized for judging.

Each routine is evaluated on technical skill, performance quality, choreography, and overall presentation.
Props and Stage Safety
We welcome the use of props, especially for Production numbers, but safety and floor preservation are top priorities.

No liquids, glitter, gels, or materials that alter the marley flooring

Prop setup and teardown must occur within the designated time (max 5 minutes for Productions)

No fire, live animals, swords, or unsafe items permitted
​
Studios are responsible for prop damage or cleanup if required
The Final Countdown Audition Experience
Unique to Addiction Dance Company, the Final Countdown is an on-stage live audition open to all competitors. Dancers learn a short routine from an ADC choreographer and perform it in a progressive elimination format judged live.

Top 3 receive merchandise; the winner receives a cash prize

Awards & Nationals Eligibility
All entries receive adjudicated awards (Platinum, Diamond, Double Diamond, etc.). Top regional winners qualify for Nationals, where they may compete in the National Showcase for Grand Champion honors.
National Showcase Divisions Include:

Solos, Duet/Trios, Small Groups, Large Groups/Lines/Productions across Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced levels

Special titles: Choreographer of the Year and Studio of the Year

Spots fill fast, and we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. All registrations must be completed online prior to the event deadline. A late fee of $10 per routine applies after the cutoff date.
